ELECTRO:ACOUSTIC
BEAST
Birmingham Electro:Acoustic Sound Theatre
While studying Studio Composition at the University of Birmingham, I composed for the BEAST system, a large scale immersive audio theatre using 42 loudspeakers and 2 subwoofers, developing my approach to spatialisation, diffusion, and multi-channel sound.

Immersion explores the gradual shift into focus I experience during repetitive performance practice. The piece moves from a dense, busy commute toward near silence, reflecting a process of narrowing attention and internalising rhythm through drumming.

BIRMINGHAM'S CLUBBING CULTURE
My second year of university saw the beginning of my exploration of field recording, using it to explore the rave scene in Birmingham. It is reflective of the start of my experimentation with music technology and the art of manipulating source material to draw out musicality from anything. I feel I have come a long way from this but it was an important step in sparking my desire for more.
